hile staffing a Tennessee 811 information booth at the Tennessee Broadband Association Conference in Franklin this year, our Damage Prevention Liaisons were approached by
Brad Bennett, a Customer Support Supervisor for United Communications in Chapel Hill, TN. Brad let us know that one of his customer support employees, Levi Newman, had been given an 811 cap by his father (an employee of Duck River Electric) and that Levi had been wearing the hat to work every day for several years. Recently employees at United Communications noticed Levi wasn’t wearing his 811 cap due to the backstrap finally giving out. Brad asked our staff if we had a replacement cap that he could get to Levi.
Middle Tennessee Damage Prevention Liaison Marcus Bartholomew made contact with Brad and sourced a few different 811 caps as possible replacements for Levi. During a member visit to the United Communications office in Chapel Hill, Marcus got a picture of Levi’s “worn out” 811 cap and presented Levi with a few new options. Levi chose a special edition Tennessee 811 40th Anniversary cap as a replacement.
Thank you, Levi, for helping us promote 811, and thank you Brad for looking out for your employees!
